Carson City, NV (August 11, 2022) – Around 2:28 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 9, a bicycle crash with injuries took place in Carson City.

According to Carson City officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Long Street and Saliman Street. A child somewhere between 12 and 13 years of age was riding on a bicycle in the area. The child was struck by a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not fully known. When police arrived at the scene, the child was sitting on a nearby curb.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The child was conscious and alert while being examined by EMS crews but did sustain injuries. It is not known if they were taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The roadway was blocked in one or more lanes in the area, which led to delays until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
