Carson City, NV (October 29, 2021) – Around 7 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, October 28, a man was injured in a pedestrian accident in Carson City.
According to Carson County officials and the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened on South Carson Street around the area of I-580. A man was allegedly walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The male pedestrian, who has not yet been identified was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment of serious injuries.
It is believed that the driver was in a pickup truck at the time. Police confirmed that an arrest has since been made.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the roadway was blocked for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
