Carson City, NV (July 19, 2022) – Two people sustained serious injuries in a car accident that happened on a major roadway in Carson City on Monday evening, July 18.

Carson City officials confirmed that the accident happened around 7:21 p.m. in the westbound lanes of US-50. A driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly lost control of their vehicle, causing it to crash into a guardrail on the side of the road. The vehicle was immensely damaged in the collision.

Emergency responders, including EMS Crews and Carson City fire officials, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One patient, identified as a pregnant woman, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. A second patient had a seizure after the accident and was flown to the hospital by medical helicopter. Their condition is not known at this time.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area. Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes until the scene was cleared.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
