Ely, NV (November 12, 2020) – Around 6:45 a.m. on November 9, a man was killed in a fatal crash that took place on a highway near McGill.

According to police, 63-year-old Nabor Hernandez-Carrillo was headed south on US-93 in a Ram pickup truck. The road was icy and his vehicle started to slide, causing his vehicle and a FedEx delivery van to collide head-on.

Due to the severity of the crash, Hernandez-Carrillo was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers and the driver of the FedEx van were all injured and airlifted to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

The vehicles involved sustained severe front-end damages and it took police some time to clear the roadway.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
