Eureka, NV (August 19, 2022) – One or more parties were hurt as a result of a car accident that took place on a highway in Eureka on Friday morning, August 19.

Eureka officials confirmed that the accident happened around 9:23 a.m. on State Road 278. Police confirmed that several vehicles were traveling in the southbound lanes of traffic when they became involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result of the crash.

Several local responders, including Eureka fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were seriously injured as a result of the crash. The parties, who have not yet been identified, were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the collision.
