Reno, NV (October 19, 2020) – Around 4:50 p.m. on Friday, October 16, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on a roadway in Reno.
The Nevada Highway Patrol confirmed that the accident took place on Geiger Grade Road in front of the local 7-Eleven. For reasons that are not yet known, a motorcycle and a Washoe County Sheriff’s SUV collided with each other, leading to a wide array of damages in the involved vehicles.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Two deputies were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcyclist was identified today as 74-year-old Joel Edwards from Sparks.
The accident closed down the roadway in both directions for several hours along the area of King Lane.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
