Reno, NV (December 20, 2021) – At 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, December 18, a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run accident occurred in Reno.

According to Reno officials, the accident happened on East Fourth Street near the area of Sage Street. A pedestrian was crossing the street in the westbound lane near the area of the Hiway 40 Motel. A westbound white SUV was traveling in the area when the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The driver did not remain at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area until approximately 9:30 p.m.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
