Reno, NV (April 26, 2022) – Around 9 p.m. on Monday night, April 25, five people sustained injuries in an apartment fire that took place in Reno.

According to Reno Police, the fire broke out in an apartment building at 710 Robinhood Drive at the Sherwood Apartments. Fire crews arrived at the scene, where they found that the fire quickly spread from the second floor where it started, to the third floor. Three people had to be rescued from the apartment next to the fire and three from the unit above the fire. Though the fire was mostly kept in the initial apartment, smoke and heat was able to affect all of the apartments nearby.

Paramedics and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Five people sustained injuries as a result of the fire. The parties were hospitalized but all are expected to recover.

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time following the fire. A total of 17 people were displaced due to the fire. Fire crews confirmed that a total of seven apartment units were completely destroyed due to the fire.

The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the fire continues.
