Reno, NV (March 18, 2022) – Around 12:33 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, March 18, a multi-vehicle collision took place in Reno.

According to Reno Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-580 around the area of I-80. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The roadway was blocked in all northbound lanes for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
