Reno, NV (July 6, 2021) – At 10:15 a.m. on Monday morning, July 5, a woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Reno.

According to the Reno Police Department, the accident happened on North Virginia Street in front of the local Walgreens. A Subaru was traveling in the area when the driver experienced a mechanical issue with their vehicle. The vehicle struck a female pedestrian walking in the area, as well as a guardrail.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
