Reno, NV (October 29, 2020) – A three-vehicle accident with injuries took place on a highway in Reno in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, October 28.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident took place when three vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of I-580 for reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles was identified as a commercial vehicle while the other two were sedans.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident to assist those with injuries. Only one person was hospitalized, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
Police later confirmed that the commercial vehicle driver, who has not yet been identified, may have been impaired at the scene of the accident.
Two lanes of I-580 were closed for an extended period of time following the collision.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
