4/12 Reno, NV – Two Injured in Semi-Truck Accident in WB Lanes of I-80

Reno, NV (April 12, 2022) – On Monday morning, April 11, two people were injured in a semi-truck accident that took place on a highway in Reno.

According to Nevada State Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-80 around the area of Vista Boulevard. A pickup truck was traveling in the westbound lanes with a semi-truck right behind it. The tractor-trailer struck the rear of the pickup truck, leading to extensive damages. The semi leaked fumaryl chloride onto the highway.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Both the driver of the tractor-trailer and the driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries. One of these victims was rushed to the hospital, though their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as the scene was cleared. This led to delays in the area.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
