Reno, NV (July 1, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a wrong-way collision that took place on a highway in Reno on Friday morning, July 1.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of US-395 around 1:30 a.m. Police confirmed that a woman was driving in the wrong direction of traffic when she struck another vehicle. Police were able to determine that she was driving in the wrong direction because she was under the influence.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The driver who was under the influence was not hurt but was promptly arrested following the accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
