Sparks, NV (February 12, 2021) – On Friday afternoon, February 12, a bicycle accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Sparks.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident took place at the intersection of Nugget Avenue and McCarran Boulevard. Few details have been released but police confirmed that an RTC Access Bus was turning right at the intersection while a bicyclist was in the crosswalk with a green light. The bus collided with the bicyclist, pushing him from his bike.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The bus driver has since been cited for failing to yield.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues at this time.
