Sparks, NV (July 12, 2021) – At 12:43 a.m. on Sunday morning, July 11, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Sparks.
According to the Sparks Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Spice Island Drive and Purina Way. A vehicle was headed eastbound at the intersection when the driver made a left turn, colliding with a second car. The second vehicle then spun out of control, striking a parked car in the area. Two people were standing next to the parked car and were also hit.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. A total of four people were injured in the accident, including the two pedestrians standing next to the vehicle. One of the victims sustained severe and life-threatening injuries but is expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
