Sparks, NV (March 8, 2021) – On Saturday evening, March 6, a two-vehicle collision with injuries took place on a major highway in Sparks.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 8:32 p.m. when two vehicles collided with each other in the westbound lanes of I-80 near McCarran Boulevard. It is not yet known what caused the vehicles to collide but they sustained severe damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were immediately hospitalized.

The roadway was blocked for several hours until 8:30 p.m. Drivers were urged to find alternate routes in the area.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
