Sparks, NV (August 6, 2021) – Around 3 a.m. on Friday morning, August 6, a woman was killed in a fatal hit-and-run crash on a Sparks highway.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80 around the area of the Pyramid Way off-ramp. A woman was walking in the area when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the crash.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for causing the accident. They blocked a portion of the roadway to clear the scene and search for the driver.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
