Sun Valley, NV (September 13, 2022) – Around 7:25 p.m. on the evening of Monday, September 12, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Sun Valley.
According to Nevada State Police, the accident happened at 5300 Sun Valley Boulevard. A driver was traveling northbound in the area when the vehicle slammed into a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street at the time. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian allegedly stayed at the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Nobody inside the vehicle sustained injuries as a result.
Northbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area of Gepford Avenue as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time. Police will update with more information as it is available.
