Carson City, NV (October 20, 2020) – According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, a pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in Carson City.
The accident took place on Monday night, October 19, at the intersection of Hot Springs Road and Pine Lane. A 72-year-old male pedestrian was walking in the area of the pedestrian at the time when he was struck by a passenger vehicle around 6:40 p.m.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was flown to the hospital by medical helicopter with severe injuries to his leg and hip. His current condition is not yet known.
The driver of the vehicle that struck him stopped at the scene and has been cooperating with the police. They confirmed that they did not see the pedestrian until it was too late.
Motorists driving in the area were urged to use alternate routes until the scene was cleared.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the crash at this time.
