Fernley, NV (November 23, 2020) – Around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, one person was killed in a fatal truck crash on a highway in Fernley.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I-80 in Fernley when two tractor-trailers collided with each other. One of the trucks was allegedly headed the wrong way at the time of the crash.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene where one of the truck drivers was pronounced dead. The second driver was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries. Neither of the victims have been identified.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was closed down in multiple lanes while police cleared the scene for several hours.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
