Gardnerville Ranchos, NV (September 28, 2022) – Around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 27, several workers were injured in a workplace accident in Gardnerville Ranchos.
According to Douglas County officials, the accident happened on Cottage Loop. Four paving workers were traveling in the area when there was a catastrophic failure to a crack-sealing pot on their vehicle. There was an explosion and a fire, which affected the workers who were engaged in paving duties at the time.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of four workers sustained injuries in the accident. One of the victims was critically injured and rushed to Renown Regional Medical Center by medical helicopter. The three others were taken to the trauma center in Reno by ambulance.
The area was blocked off due to paving and the accident. Police worked to clear the scene for most of the afternoon.
