Reno, NV (March 9, 2021) – At 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning, March 9, a car crash involving seventeen vehicles took place on a highway in Reno.

According to police, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of US-395 around the area of Golden Valley Drive and Panther Drive. It is believed that the roadway was icy and many of the drivers were traveling too fast for conditions. A total of seventeen vehicles were involved, including a police cruiser.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. One woman, who has not yet been identified, was severely injured and taken to the hospital. The trooper was allegedly not hurt.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Multiple tow trucks had to remove vehicles from the scene.

The investigation into the collision is currently ongoing.
