Reno, NV (January 19, 2022) – On Tuesday evening, January 18, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Reno.
According to Washoe County officials, the accident happened at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Military Road and Kelly Lane. A 37-year-old male pedestrian was walking in the area when he started to cross the junction. At this time, he was struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling in the area. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to a regional hospital for treatment of severe injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The southbound lanes of travel were blocked in the area of Military Road for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
