Reno, NV (August 16, 2022) – On Tuesday evening, August 16, a pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Reno.
The accident, according to local officials, happened around 9:30 p.m. on Bennie Lane at an apartment complex close to the local Napa Auto Parts store. Police arrived at the scene and found that a man was struck by a driver in the parking lot to the apartment complex. The driver then fled the scene of the collision, allegedly on foot.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately called to the scene. Fire crews were able to extricate the man from under the involved vehicle. He was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. His current condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until the scene was fully cleared.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
We offer our warmest thoughts of healing to the victim who was hurt in this accident. We hope that they receive a speedy recovery.
