Reno, NV (August 22, 2022) – On Saturday evening, August 20, a pedestrian accident causing injuries took place at an intersection in Reno.
According to Reno Police Department officials, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of 15th Street and North Virginia Street close to the University of Nevada. A pedestrian was walking in the area and started to cross the street at the intersection when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The passenger vehicle allegedly remained at the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was injured as a result of the accident. The injured party was taken to the hospital but is expected to make a full recovery.
The roadway was blocked near the intersection for an extended period of time following the accident.
