Reno, NV (April 13, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal workplace accident that took place on Tuesday afternoon, April 12, in Reno.
According to Reno Police, the accident happened around 2 p.m. on Jasper Lane. A man was in the area doing yardwork on behalf of a business. He was working in a tree when he suddenly came into contact with power lines. Police confirmed that the man was electrocuted as a result of touching the wires.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help. Multiple agencies worked to bring the man down from the tree. When he was brought down, he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the severity of the incident, the area was blocked for an extended period of time. Approximately 908 people were left without power for several hours.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
