Reno, NV (August 11, 2022) – On Thursday morning, August 11, one person was killed in a fatal car accident that took place in Reno.
According to Nevada State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 11 a.m. in the southbound lanes of US-395 around the area of Lemmon Drive. A 4-door Mazda was traveling in the area and headed southbound when it collided with another vehicle due to unknown reasons. It is not known if the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Several emergency responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anyone else was hurt as a result of the crash.
The roadway was blocked in most southbound lanes of traffic for some time. Police are asking for witnesses to the collision who may have seen the Mazda responsible for the accident.
No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
