Reno, NV (September 20, 2021) – At 8:51 p.m. on the night of Friday, September 17, a serious pedestrian accident occurred in Reno.
According to Reno Police, the accident happened on Sutro Street around the area of Timber Way. A 54-year-old male pedestrian was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling in the area at the same time. The striking vehicle was headed north while the pedestrian was walking east.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the crash. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. His current condition is not yet known. The driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
Sutro Street was blocked in the area for several hours but was reopened around 1:45 a.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
