Sparks, NV (October 12, 2021) – At 4:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 12, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on a major highway in Sparks.
According to Sparks Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80 around the area of Prater Way. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
