Sparks, NV (July 7, 2022) – One person was injured in a serious motorcycle accident that took place in Sparks on Wednesday afternoon, July 6.
According to Sparks Police Department officials, the accident happened in the afternoon hours on Greg Street around the area of Stanford Way. A Suburban was pulling out of a driveway in the area when the driver started to do a U-turn. The vehicle slammed into a motorcyclist who was unable to avoid the crash, causing the motorcycle to become trapped underneath the back of a trailer that was being towed by the Suburban.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured in the crash. They were rushed to the hospital but are expected to make a full recovery at this time.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic near the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
