Elko, NV (September 8, 2020) – Around 5:10 p.m. on Friday, September 4, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in front of a gas station in Elko.
According to the Elko Police Department, the collision took place at 1111 Idaho St. at the Maverik gas station when a 65-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 27-year-old Spring Creek woman in a Jeep Gladiator.
At the time of the accident, there was congestion and poor visibility and the driver claimed that they did not see the pedestrian.
The victim was taken to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital by paramedics. While there, she succumbed to her traumatic injuries.
The Nevada Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the accident.
