Fallon, NV (January 10, 2022) – One person was critically injured in a head-on collision at an intersection in Fallon on the night of Sunday, January 9.
Carson City officials confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of I-580, US-50, and South Carson Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when it is believed that one lost control due to suspected impairment. The driver crashed head-on into a second vehicle, leading to extensive damages.
Paramedics, Carson City Fire Department officials, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was extricated from their vehicle and taken by medical helicopter to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Three other victims sustained minor injuries and are expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.
Nevada Highway Patrol officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Police have not said if any arrests were made.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
