Reno, NV (November 14, 2022) – A man was injured in a serious pedestrian accident on a roadway in Reno on Sunday morning, November 13.

According to Reno Police Department officials, the accident happened at 3:30 a.m. on Stead Boulevard around the area of Lear Boulevard. Police confirmed that it was dark out and a vehicle was headed northbound when it suddenly collided with a man who was crossing the street or otherwise in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to check on the pedestrian.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Reno responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified only as a local 70-year-old man, sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his life-threatening injuries, though his current condition is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene. Police believe that the vehicle that struck the victim is a dark gray pickup truck or an SUV. It is not known if police have found the driver responsible at this time.

The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident continues.
