Reno, NV (April 27, 2021) – On Monday night, April 26, one person was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a Reno highway.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-580 around the area of Moana Lane. A pedestrian was walking northbound in the area when they started to cross the roadway and were struck by a passenger vehicle.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

All southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time following the collision.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
