Reno, NV (May 10, 2022) – A serious pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Reno on Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m., May 10.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the early afternoon at the intersection of East 6th Street and Evans Avenue. Reports claim that a pedestrian male was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle that was driving through the intersection. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene to cooperate with police.
Paramedics and Reno Fire arrived at the scene of the collision to assist the injured victim. The male pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was seriously injured in the collision. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment and, according to police, is fighting for his life at this time.
Police did not say if the driver was impaired at the time or what circumstances led to the accident.
The intersection was blocked in the area for some time following the collision. Police stated that the scene was not cleared until after 8 p.m.
Reno Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
