Valmy, NV (September 2, 2021) – At 12:23 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, September 2, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Valmy.
According to police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80 around the area of mile marker 223. Several vehicles were traveling on the highway in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions are not fully known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police cleared the scene. This led to delays for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
